Speaker 1:

Hello everybody and welcome back to another episode of Heart to Heart with Hads. Today we're going to be chatting a little bit about struggles, because I feel like I've been going through a little bit of struggle right now. But every time that I've dealt with struggle I knew that the breakthrough was right around the corner. And if I just stuck with it, despite my feelings, despite my meltdown session yesterday, crying session, I know that the breakthrough is literally on the other side. If I just keep continuing what I'm doing, I'm not reverting backwards. I'm not going backwards, I'm not digging myself into shame and guilt. I'm just getting right back up and just continuing my daily habits, my daily non-negotiables, to ensure that I'm getting to where I want to be. So let's just dive right in.

Speaker 1:

Nothing has really changed from last week to this week on any life updates or anything like that. I'm kind of just living, working and making an impact. So, hopefully, I know that sounds super dumb and cliche, but it is really true and I love it. I'm all here for the wind, okay, anyways, um, I'm sure that a lot of you are feeling stuck in wherever you're at right now. Uh, could be with your, your nutrition, your job or not, your okay. It could be your health, your job, your whatever school, anything that you're going through, any hardships that you're going through, any of the struggle that you're going through. I don't think anybody has ever not questioned like, am I doing? Is what I'm doing even worth it? Like, am I even seeing the return on investment of what I'm currently doing? Right now? And the answer is yes. Everything that you are striving to succeed is all, or striving to hit. All is becoming in this instant, in this exact moment, the exact little, daily, tiny things that you think are so dumb are adding up. I can guarantee you that, and I need to take my own advice on this.

Speaker 1:

I don't think you guys understand that when I'm talking to you, I'm also talking to myself. So it's not just like me telling you what to do. It's like hey, hadley, shut the hell up and listen to your own advice here. So this is from my point of view and how I feel like my struggles are going to help you. But also I'm kind of talking to myself while I'm doing this, listening back to what I'm saying so that I can incorporate these things as well, because I'm not perfect. No one's perfect, no one's no one never has any sort of struggle that they're going through. And so just want to put this in preface, that I'm dealing with it too, and if my advice helps you, it's helping me like it'll help anybody. So, share a friend, share with a friend, tag a friend. I mean, whatever you want to do to make you feel better and make others around you feel better, please go ahead and share it.

Speaker 1:

This podcast does nothing for me, but just get gets things off my chest. And if it helps somebody else, um, I mean, it doesn't do anything for me, like monetarily, like I'm not gaining anything from this, but just providing insights and advice and things that have worked for me. So, um, but yeah, you feel like you're literally doing everything going back into that but questioning if it's worth it. I said that already. But the frustration I feel like the plateau, the self doubt, that's really where the true, real transformation happens, and I'm kind of in this boat right now and I'm like my mind is having two different thoughts. It's like one way is going just give it all up, like it's not even worth it, yada, yada, yada. And this other part of my mind is like hell, no, when have I ever gave up in anything that I've done, I've always progressed forward. When things were hard, when I just kept doing what I know, freaking sucks and it feels like the not that's not moving the needle forward, but deep down, I know that it is. I know that what I'm doing is so just having just like taking a step back, reflecting on, yes, what I'm doing is working and I can't shame myself or guilt myself into just scratching everything, putting into a bowl and throwing it away Like that's not how it works, like I didn't come this far to come this freaking far. I think I love that saying so whenever you're feeling like, oh, I'm not making progress, like this is just not working for me, give it time, keep doing the daily thing.

Speaker 1:

So, going back to why people feel stuck, maybe your body's not changing fast enough. You know the scale isn't moving. Your physique looks the exact same. I get this all the time with my clients and I'm like, okay, how long have you been doing this? Oh, you've been doing this for eight weeks, okay, okay. And how long have you actually been consistent? Only two, okay. So you have to just go back and rewire and rethink like, okay, what am I actually doing that's getting me there and how long have I even been at it and look how far I've actually come. And then maybe you're having strength plateaus, your lifts feel the same, you're not having any new PRs. Maybe it's just like within life. You know your business hasn't grown, you're feeling like you're stuck in. You know your workplace You're not seeing, I'm not making any strides to working my way up, whatever it may be. You know you're still feeling bloated, you're still having the stomach issues, you're still inflamed. These are just little things that my clients deal with. Or maybe you're just like mentally frustrated, like I feel like I'm in that spot where I'm at, like that mental burnout, that frustration from putting in the effort and not seeing.

Speaker 1:

The quote unquote resort research, rewards I was trying to say results and rewards at the same time. Resorts came out, but rewards, results. But just because you're not actively seeing the progress right now happening doesn't mean it. Just because you're not seeing it, seeing in all caps, doesn't mean it's not happy. Um, it is likely that your, your body is adapting, your body is, you know, building that resilience, say, if you're talking about your job, it's all those little daily tasks, non-negotiables, that are going to add up. And so what really is the science behind.

Speaker 1:

You know some of those breakthrough moments whenever we're talking about more health and fitness related goals and I'm just going to talk more on that because that's kind of like my field of expertise but your mind and your body are not going to change instantly. Your growth in the company that you're in is not going to happen instantly. The growth in your, say you have your own business is not going to happen instantly. Like this takes time. You have to get the people what they want before other people can see the value. And I think that's kind of why I'm struggling a little bit right now is because I feel like you know, I should be able to continue to help more people and it's like, but I still need to get the results for the clients that I do have.

Speaker 1:

While I am doing that, I just everything feels slow and it's frustrating. Like even with your fitness journey, everything just feels so slow pace because usually we're like constantly picking, like, oh, what am I doing wrong? What am I doing right? But we don't ever take a step back and look at like the 50,000 foot view of what all we have accomplished in such a short amount of time that when we do have setbacks, we're like, oh, we suck, everything's got to go to the ground, we're done, I'm not doing it anymore. And so that kind of goes in with the fitness thing too is like, we're done, I'm not doing it anymore.

Speaker 1:

And so that kind of goes in with the fitness thing too is like, okay, say you had a bad weekend, and then you're like, oh, I'm gonna throw everything out the window because I literally just my weekend was terrible. I had two meals that just made me feel so awful, and so why should I even keep going if I just keep sabotaging myself like this, yada, yada, yada. It's like, whoa, okay, take a step back, look at, take a step back, look at what you. Look at what you usually do. If you have two days, how are you going to let two whole days derail everything that you've worked hard for? You're not. You're just simply not. You're just going to get back on. Most people do anyways, and if you don't, you're not gonna beat yourself up. No-transcript.

Speaker 1:

Your body has to recalibrate before fat loss can totally kick in. Your body has to get into a state of wellbeing before you know the fat loss comes in. Like a lot of the people when they come to me, they're like oh, I just want to lose fat, I want to lose fat, I want to gain muscle. And it's like it's a process. You really can't do both things at once. You kind of have to give your time and energy to one or the other and it's just, it works in phases and I feel like that's kind of where I'm at right now is like there is certain phases where things are really well and things kind of suck, but I got to do them either way, like I got to keep pushing either way. So, and then, whenever you're we're talking about, you know, strength in the gym, um, your nervous system has to adapt to, you know, the stimulus you're putting on it before the muscle can grow.

Speaker 1:

And this kind of goes back to what I was talking about. You know, whatever, like I'm having like a plateau, and whatever I'm doing, your nervous system is just not technically calibrated to that higher sense of being. Yet you haven't. The reason you haven't broke past that plateau is because your mindset is just stuck in that. You know, scarcity mode of this is this is how it's going to be, like everything's crumbling in front of me, when it's just like no, that that breakthrough is just right on the cusp of this. If you just keep going like it's going to happen. Um, and most breakthroughs happen whenever you're you're pushing through that discomfort and most people quit at 80% progress. 80% progress right before they hit that tipping point. So the resistance that you're feeling right now and whatever it is, that's the final test. If you're feeling that resistance, that's when you should keep going, keep striving. So what do you do when you feel like nothing is working?

Speaker 1:

I kind of just talked about this, but zoom out, look at your progress over the month, over the months plural. So I mean, yeah, you can look at it over the month, you can look at it over the past six months. We're not looking at it days, we're looking at it in months form, and then you know, focusing on things that are non measurable wins. So, if you're talking about coming from a health point, you know energy digestion, strength, consistency, and we're not just going to give up, we're gonna. We're gonna double down on our efforts and we're not going to doubt, we're not going to shame, shame ourselves into guilt. So, instead of pulling back and be like, oh, I just I can't do it, lean in harder, lean into those struggles even harder. And that's where that's where you're going to push past and just break through everything. You know, reframe your stuck feeling to it's not failure. This is not me failing right now. It's the pre breakthrough stage. Like this is getting me ready to break through that next moment.

Speaker 1:

I think this is something that a lot of my clients struggle with is like oh, but I'm just struggling, like I feel like I haven't seen the progression in. You know four weeks, and it's like that's four weeks, like that's only 30 days. You know you're doing the work. Like a lot of the times, yes, people will see, see good progress in that four weeks, or even say they do make a lot of progress at the beginning and then it starts to slow down and so they're like, oh, it's done, it's not working, but it's like, no, everything you've been doing actually has gotten you to this point. You just have to keep doing it. You don't. You don't get to stay stagnant whenever things are going really well. You have to keep doing the hard things when things are well so that when things go bad, you know what to do because you've been in that spot of well.

Speaker 1:

And this is, like I said, going back to something that I've been struggling with, too is and this is like I said going back to something that I've been struggling with too is like I'm doing things so well, things are going so good, and then I have, oh, a couple mishaps or things here, and then I just feel like, oh, everything I've done is just not worth it. When it's like, no, everything I've done has gotten me to this point and so I just need to keep doing them and just keep striving for that. Not, I don't want to say more, but just keep striving for, you know, that consistency and that drive and just that ear to just keep going, which, don't get me wrong, I'm pretty much always like that but just reminding you and myself that just when things are good doesn't mean you can, you know, essentially like pull back. So just a little food for thought there, um, but shift your focus to other things that are going well inside of your journey. That's non, like I said, non skill related, uh, non numbers related.

Speaker 1:

You know, how are you really feeling? Are you feeling fulfilled? Are you feeling energized? You know? Have you noticed your strength going up in the gym? Are you feeling fulfilled? Are you feeling energized? You know? Have you noticed your strength going up in the gym? Have you noticed your self-talk has been better? Have you noticed that your confidence is way up? Have you noticed that there's so many other little intricate things that you could notice about yourself than what exactly you look like?

Speaker 1:

Or if you're, you know, talking about business, about business, how much, how many, how much money you're making a month or how many, whatever, like any type of thing that's talking about numbers. And then, like I said, you know, taking that, that guilt out of your, out of your brain, that self-doubt out of your brain, knowing that if I keep doing what I'm doing, if I keep listening to my, my mentor and my coach, and I'm doing what they say, then I know that the breakthrough is on the other side. Because they've done it, they know what it's like, they know the struggles and they've literally lived it. And so just preaching that and ingraining that inside, um, inside of your head is really important to do. And then we're not. We're not stuck, we're never stuck.

Speaker 1:

That's something that I feel like I always talk about is we're never just stuck with where we are. There's always ways to continue to improve and evolve and just keep getting better and leveling up, and if you're not seeing something happen, it's probably because you just haven't given it enough time and you haven't been consistent with it for long enough to reap the rewards of it. And that's just my biggest takeaway from this is, like, just just stick through it. Like that breakthrough is coming, embrace that struggle. Struggling is good. I, I used to, while I still kind of do think that struggling is bad. I'll just be like, oh, I'm struggling, but like struggle is good. That is really really, really important for not only growth within yourself, but just pushing past that, those barriers, you know, having that grit, grit, that confidence to just just keep going. Keep keep going, even when there's struggles.

Speaker 1:

So I don't want to make this episode too long. I just kind of wanted to be short and motivational. Sometimes I have a lot to yap about and sometimes it's very short, but this is just what's been on my mind today. So if this hits, please share it, give it a review and let me know. If you're struggling with this, don't hesitate to reach out and just keep crushing it, like, like I said, the breakthrough you will get past that breakthrough. Just don't let up. Look how far you've come, look how far you're willing to go and just keep pressing on. You got this. I'm in your corner. See you, guys, in the next episode. Xoxo, gossip Girl.
