Speaker 1:

Hello everybody and welcome back to another episode of Heart to Heart with Hads. It's been a minute since I've done a pod, but I have just came to the realization that I need to just do it whenever it feels best for me and not try to force out a podcast episode if I'm not truly having any ideas or inspiration come to mind. But I think, after taking a little bit of a break from it, I'm feeling refreshed. So now I'll have a specific little calendar that I'm going to go off of to make it happen, make these episodes happen, make them more informational but also motivational. So let's just dive into what we're talking about today. So we're going to talk about the truth behind why you're stuck and kind of just how to reset your body for fat loss and gaining that energy back. So I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you're feeling stuck, that's usually a sign that either something needs to change within you or within your environment. So just going to give you a little bit of a backstory. I've had several clients that have came to me and they have told me you know I've tried this. This hasn't worked. I'm just thinking of one in particular. She tried something called Octavia and actually let's just pull it up. Let's just do like a little bit of a background, because I know what it is, the premise of it is, but I don't know exactly. So it's literally a weight loss program. Okay, let's see Up to 130. I don't want them to start sending me freaking like emails. Reject all cookies. Okay, cool, my friendly weight loss. Built around you. No fads or fluff, just plans that fit your life. Okay, set your goals, connect with a coach, build your tailored nutrition plan. Set yourself up for success. Ready set, go. Okay, I, I just need to see like what it, what it entails, because I know that they send you like basically, okay, basically it's. They send you these little bars and you eat the bars and then, um, you only eat like one. You eat one meal day and then you eat these other little bars and the bars are like 90 calories each and you have to eat like five of those a day or something like that. And it's literally crazy. Like I don't understand. Okay, we're just gonna, we're gonna, I don't need it to. Let's just click shop. I don't need it to give me okay. Okay, here I found shop. So optimal weight five and one plan kit. Okay, weight loss kickstarter, let's just do it. You get 70 servings. Product information Okay, so you get these bars. The kit includes creamy double peanut butter crisp bar. Chocolate mint cookie crisp bar Beautiful product details, anyways, so you're supposed to eat. Product details, anyways, so you're supposed to eat.

Speaker 1:

Oh, average weight loss on optimal weight. Five and one point is 12 pounds. Clients are in weight loss on average for 12 weeks. Average weight loss, so a pound a week. Anyways, these bars.

Speaker 1:

So I'm trying to figure out. Hopefully you guys are understanding what I'm saying. They're called fuelings, so I'm trying to figure out what exactly. I know you eat a couple of them a day and then all of the other meal you have like one other meal. I'm trying to click on the nutrition information of each bar and it won't let me. That's a red flag in itself, right there, like why can I not? Why can I not see it? It's making me mad. Anyways, you follow this certain plan, you eat these meals and essentially like this is she told me that she had done this before and she lost so much weight, and then she was like I gained it all back and I haven't been able to lose any sense, and so I was like okay, well, to me it sounds like you, you know, kind of restricted your body on calories for a long time and now it's adapted Like you have not given it enough nutrients or anything at all and so, and her thyroid levels were also a little bit low.

Speaker 1:

But they were also wanting to put her on hormone replacement therapy and all these things and she's like I just want to figure out how I can lose weight and sustain it. So we've been working together for like about 12 weeks and we did a little bit of a detox. We kind of started her food fairly low and kind of just maintained it to where it's at, but just like really focusing on detoxing first. So she hasn't done any training. We focused solely on getting steps, getting in sleep, all of the like little variables, and it's really helped so much. So today we're just going to dive deep in.

Speaker 1:

I know that was like a huge tangent. We're going to dive deep into maybe why you're feeling stuck, why typical cycle is cut calories too low, you overdo on cardio and you try bad diets, or maybe even like detox tea or even this program that I was telling you about. It's crazy that people fall for that, but it is what it is. Our market, our consumerism, society falls for marketing and that's that. So that could be a whole nother episode and we won't dive into that today.

Speaker 1:

But the missing piece, and why these methods fail, is they don't address any hormonal imbalances, they don't address your gut health, they don't address stress. They literally don't know what's going on in your body. They're just like here you go, here's this plan. We're going to have you eat 900 calories a day, which I need to go and really dive a little bit deep more on what they're trying to fully do. But that's all I know, because I know my aunt did it and I know this client did it too. But I mean, the bars look super appetizing. So, essentially, like you eat these bars and you have one meal day and that's how you make your progress. Because you restrict yourself of so many calories, um, you don't get in a lot of nutrients and you essentially just like deprive your body. So, anyways, I'll stop talking about it and we'll just anyways.

Speaker 1:

But, like I said, they make things worse. They overload the body by just like giving you like random little bars, like I said, or just random things like that slow your metabolism down, so your digestion and stress are two of the most important things when it comes to efficiently like managing your weight or losing your weight. So these are the things that keep people stuck, no matter how hard they try, is their digestion, their stress and their sleep, and they don't realize that all of these things play such a big factor in everything else. So, diving into kind of what actually needs to be done, so and and I'm this doesn't happen all the time. Not every single client that comes to me I'm like we, they need a full like reset because their body is struggling.

Speaker 1:

But, like a lot of people that I come in contact with, it's like, okay, we got to figure out what the heck is going on, we got to detox them a little bit and get their body to a spot where we can, you know, kind of reset them. So that, yes, when you come and I know a lot of the clients that I get they want to change their body, they have body composition goals, want to change their body, they have body composition goals but at the same time, like if internally what's not, if it's not clicking internally, then we can't really focus on the external side of things because your body's just not going to respond. It's not if it's not absorbing those nutrients properly, if it's not getting the proper rest. If your digestion's off like once those things are kind of hit on the head, then you can jump into more of like the okay, now we're going to train. Now, like I said, not everybody needs this, but eight I would say seven to eight out of 10.

Speaker 1:

When they come to me and they're dealing with some sort of you know, resistance to losing weight or whatever it is, it's because their body has adapted and their body's been in such a stress state that they can no longer make progress towards, you know, essentially losing body fat and putting on muscle. So that's where what I have been doing with some of these clients, and getting them into more of a heal state first and then going into a function state, is helping the process tremendously. And I know it's hard because you know clients come to you they're like, oh, I've tried everything, I just want to keep working now, keep going hard. And it's like wait, if your body's not responding to that, why would we keep doing the same thing? So the first step is realizing like, who needs it.

Speaker 1:

You know, if it's someone that is just like they have actually been, you know, overeating, and maybe they do just need to lower calories and move a little bit more. That's fine, but sometimes people and most of the time this is not the case, especially for females who are high achieving and put a lot of stress on themselves with whether it's their work, their relationship, you know, literally just anything. I'm a high achieving person, and so I can honestly say that I do put myself in way too of a heightened state, and so recently I've learned that my stress bucket can only handle so much, and I have to focus on the things that are I need to get done and the things that are stressing me out. And training is a stressor in itself. So if I'm stressing my body with training plus work, plus the other things that I just think that I need to put on my plate, then that becomes too much, and so the first thing is okay, we've got to pull back on one of these stressors. And what's that going to look like? So, obviously there's.

Speaker 1:

It's a whole lifestyle intervention. It's not just one thing too and I think that's part of the problem too is when people come to me and they want me to help them, they're only looking at it from a physique standpoint and they don't understand that the body is one whole system. And I'm trying to help them fix the whole system. We're not just focused on, okay, getting your workout in, okay, getting training in. Like, getting training in like, no, it's a whole, it's a whole body thing. Like you have to focus on the hormone aspect, you know, like, are you having regular menstrual cycles? Like, what does your sleep look like? There's so many little tiny components that people don't really realize and they're they'll be timid to like telling me about these things, and I'm like, if I don't know these things'll be timid to like telling me about these things. And I'm like, if I don't know these things, then I can't help you.

Speaker 1:

And my goal is I'm not trying to sit here and play doctor, but my goal is to help you prevent any sort of issues from happening later on, so that you can feel good in your skin right now as well. Like you should be able to wake up, have energy, be able to, you know, do your day-to-day tasks and not feel like you're, you know, constantly in a heightened state of stress. And that's also why it's important for me to know these things too, because, like, if you are feeling these stressors, I'm not just like, okay, here we go. Here's a training plan. I need to know all of these little things. I need to know all of these little things.

Speaker 1:

So that was a little bit of a tangent, but just like my approach to resetting people who are having issues with losing body fat and despite, you know, eating less and moving more because what I've learned is calories in, calories out is doesn't work properly if your body's not detoxing properly and if your liver's slowed down, if your digestion's off, you simply are not going to. So, um, um, all disease and I read this and I'm my um, I'm sorry, I'm trying not to say um, I'm trying to get better about that. I read it in my mentorship that I'm doing right now for my functional health coaching, that all disease starts in the gut, and this is incredibly true. And so if we can detox the liver, which is going to help with the process of the gut, then things will trend in the right direction.

Speaker 1:

So detoxing, so what does it mean? We're clearing out any stressors, toxins and inflammation. So this is not a juice cleanse by any means at all. We're removing all sorts of stressors from your environment. So that could be training, that could be drinking alcohol, that could be, you know, added stress from work or, like I said, from training, any mental stress. You know we're going to remove caffeine, stimulants, any processed foods, any sugar, anything that could be disruptive to your overall internal health, and you know your mental state. So, like I said, all toxins, inflammation and this is important because your body cannot thrive when it's overloaded. When it's backed up by properly detoxing, it's allowing your liver, your gut and your hormones to function better. And so usually this takes, you know, close to two to four weeks and after this time frame, so well, first of all, like I said, removing the inflammatory foods and supporting the body with real nutrient-dense foods. Like, when I say real nutrient-dense foods, I mean like stuff you would not probably usually have in your meal plan, stuff that I usually don't have on my meal plan on a day-to-day, but things that are really going to help drive out any sort of toxins going on in the body.

Speaker 1:

It's a whole phase and it has to be, you know, managed properly. There's supplements that go into it as well. We want to support the thyroid, the adrenals, everything during this process to get you into more of like a healing and a rest and digest spot. And then you know going into after you finish that, going into more of like the nourish, nourish phase. So this means you know, slowly, slowly increasing your calories, incorporating some more food groups, because when you're doing that detox you want to keep things a little bit more low FODMAP. So that's a whole other thing that we can talk about is FODMAPs, but essentially foods that are high in FODMAPs can make it harder for your body to digest if you have a little bit of insensitivity Not insensitivity, if you have a little bit of sensitivity to those. Sensitivity, not insensitive, if you have a little bit of sensitivity to those. But we just want to keep everything very chill and calm, but also using a lot of plants to help with that detoxification process.

Speaker 1:

So going into that next phase, norris, like I was talking about, this is when we want to fuel your body. So start to incorporate more foods. See, you know, if there's any type of gut issues that could be going on. So slowly reintroducing some foods. See, you know, if there's any type of gut issues that could be going on. So slowly reintroducing some foods to see if there are any sensitivities, but just adding in even more nutrient-dense foods and focusing a little bit more on balance and consistency which I don't like the word balance but here, like the first phase is restrictive, like will be two. First phase is restrictive, like we'll be two weeks where you have to fully commit to that and it can be hard, you know, but it's very much worth it. And so that's where that next part, we kind of slowly start to incorporate some other things. But this is where we'll want to start to work our food up into a good spot that's, you know, maintainable for you.

Speaker 1:

And then going into, you know, the last quote unquote phase, just having the strong foundation so that your body can handle more stress and perform at its best. So, once your body is functioning optimally, fat loss, strength and energy are going to come a lot more naturally and a lot more easily because you've already, you know, kind of quote unquote primed your body or healed it for it to be able to, you know, put on muscle. So here we'll start to incorporate strength training, still prioritizing that stress management and quality sleep. But this is where we'll sprinkle in strength training, still prioritizing that stress management and quality sleep. But this is where we'll sprinkle in strength training and work on more of like a body composition type of thing and not necessarily, you know, focusing on just healing. So this can be, you know, used to body recomposition, build some muscle and once we get in a good spot here body recomposition, build some muscle.

Speaker 1:

And once we get in a good spot here, you know if we can and a lot of people do see a lot of progress within these phases because their body's actually getting into a state of functioning properly and so you can oftentimes see some fat loss and, you know, weight loss happen during this process because a lot of the inflammation comes down and we see that come out, so that function. You know, when we get to that function, we're already doing good. So, adding in like the strength training and doing that for a while, then you can be like, okay, I could possibly do, you know, a cut. But your body where the goal is to work your calories into a spot that's maintainable, to, where you know a cut. But your body where the goal is to work your calories into a spot that's maintainable, to where you know you're not gaining weight but you're in a spot that that feels good and that you're functioning optimally at. So I mean, yeah, just going back to that first client that I was talking about at the beginning, she we didn't do any sort of strength training. We focused strictly on detoxifying, so we did foods that were going to work best optimally and some supplementation. Then we worked on restoring the adrenals and getting her gut health in check, and so now the goal is to just slowly work her food up and she lost, you know, 12 pounds in that process. So not 12 pounds, I think it was 10 pounds, but even then she's still making a lot of progress. So right now we're doing some high days and low days to kind of, you know, give her metabolism a boost as well. But essentially our goal is to work up to those high day, you know, macros and keep getting her into a spot of losing, losing body fat, and maintaining that loss, maintaining that weight that she's at.

Speaker 1:

But the first goal has to be health and I think a lot of people when they come, they're just like, oh, this is my goal. But then, when you really start to dig deeper, it's like, oh well, I actually have this issue. I actually have this issue and it's a full body healing process. So if one thing's out of whack, everything's going to be out of whack. Now, this is not the case for everybody. A lot of people do have some sort of like underlying issues, and so that's why the eat less, move more thing doesn't always work out.

Speaker 1:

But you might be thinking like holy crap, this does sound like me, like what if this, what if this? Is you and you're listening. You might be thinking like okay, sounds like it's going to take some time. And I know our society is like instant gratification. We want quick fixes. But that's just really not how it works.

Speaker 1:

Whenever you're dealing with your health, it when you get sick like you, when you're sick or you have some sort of issue going on, your body just doesn't automatically get better. Like you know how it like takes like weeks, a couple of weeks for you to like fully feel back to yourself, and maybe it's even days. Well, yeah, you're having that you know antibiotic that's going to help you. But that's kind of the similar process of like actually healing from within and figuring out the root cause is it's going to take time, like you can't, you can't get better just like that. So fixing the root of the problem is important so that you never truly feel stuck again when it comes to weight loss, and you have, and it doesn't even have to just be weight loss.

Speaker 1:

But a lot of the times people come to me they either they want to look good and they want to feel good, and in order to look good, you have to focus on feeling good, and that starts with with actually healing the body from within and fixing some of those root issues so you could feel really good three months from now, six months from now. Three months would be like the ideal frame for just even just nailing the basics. I mean, this is just like the very basic thing. And another three months from now you'll even feel like better, you'll know exactly what you need to do and, who knows, it may even take you a full year, and I'm not saying that to scare you, but the more that you can commit upfront to changing and wanting, wanting help, wanting better for yourself, the better that you're going to feel. So just imagine exactly how you could feel in three, six months from now. And then imagine staying in the same exact cycle three to six months from now, because you didn't, you didn't try, you didn't take the first step.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, I just wanted to get on here and kind of explain, you know, like the process of why you may be feeling stuck and how I can help you. Um, if this resonates with you, I want to help because I've dealt with these things myself. I've had gut issues, I've had hormone issues. I still deal with them, um, especially my hormone one. My gut one is a lot better. I've definitely healed my gut. Now, my hormones is one thing that I'm working on and that is for me.

Speaker 1:

I'm having to pull back on a lot of training stressors, which is something that I didn't want to do, but not doing it is just straight up self-sabotage. So, and I have a coach and he tells me what to do, and if I don't listen to him, I'm not only hurting myself, because that's what I'm paying him, and he tells me what to do, and if I don't listen to him, I'm not only hurting myself, because that's what I'm paying him and he's helping me through the process, but I'm also hurting myself because I'm not sticking to my word. So it's important to know that, like you have to be willing to do what it takes, even if you don't want to do it, and that that's just my little, my little analogy, but if any of this resonates with anybody that's listening. I'm going to be opening up three more spots, and I have I do have a a big list of clients that are that I'm working with right now, but I know that there are people out there that are struggling with this and I want to be the one to help you, too In this constant struggle and cycle of feeling like crap and having nothing figured out, keep repeating the cycle. I want to help because it's important to me and I've seen loved ones be very sick because they have not taken care of their health, they've not taken a root cause approach and they've just looked at external things and not really what's really going on inside, and so I want to be able to help you so that you can learn and that you can never do it again. So, like I said, I'm opening up three spots for till the end of January for my program.

Speaker 1:

So this is your chance to reset and get your body into a thriving state with a plan that's literally specific to you. It's not some cookie cutter shit you can find online. It's not Octavia. Hopefully I don't get canceled or not canceled, but I think you can get shadow banned or something taken down. If you mention other things. I don't really know how it works, but I'm definitely dissing on it.

Speaker 1:

So what you're gonna get from me is personalization Like I'm going to ask you the ins and outs of your health history and probably more in-depth questions than your doctor's ever asked you in your entire life. So just be prepared for that, and you also are just going to get that support from me to uncover and address any of the cause, the root cause of your issues and struggles going on. This is not something that you can literally get anywhere else and going to see the long-term results without any restrictive dieting or endless cardio. You're just going to learn what it's like to live a healthy lifestyle and what exactly that looks like. So if this sounds like you, if this sounds like something that you need, get in contact with me, message me, dm me on Instagram. We can book a call, literally a free call and I will go through with you exactly what's going on and see if this is even something that would help you or benefit you. So that's that.

Speaker 1:

If you're feeling stuck, it's not because you're not trying hard enough. You just need the right approach for your body, not what's going to fit cookie cutter to everyone else. But, yeah, thank you guys for spending this time with me and listening to my rant. I'm going to go do some more research on the Optivia and I want you guys to do it as well and let me know if you come up with anything. So, yeah, anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this episode. Share it with someone that maybe needs to hear it, or if you yourself are struggling, reach out, send it to someone that maybe. But there's only a couple spots, so don't waste any time acting and I'm literally putting this on there's only 10 days left of this month, so you've got 10 days so we can get on a call and get talking about how I can help you reach your full potential. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed it and I will see you in the next episode. Bye.
